Music 4 Cancer (M4C) is a non-profit organization founded in 2007 by Jay Épinat and François Philippe Dupont (legally registeredin Quebec and Canada in 2010) to raise funds for research through music projects.
Partner of Interbox and Sébastien Gauthier for the Bute/Pascal Boxing Gala at the Bell Center, our logo could be seen during the whole fight.
It is therefore thanks to the organization of shows every month and two Music 4 Cancer festivals (including Heavy M4C in partnership with EVENKO), the sales of an album, editorial articles, a TV series and documentary project that Music 4 Cancer collects a considerable amount of money for cancer research at the end of each year.
We also help emerging bands of Quebec get heard and known thanks to our shows and get them to open for international bands. A documentary on our organization is currently in production.
All our work is done on a voluntary basis in order to give the more money possible to the cause. Our lawyers, notaries, administration as well as our committee and volunteers all do it on a voluntary basis. This is a large team where everyone believes in the cause.
Since the official establishment in 2010, many world-famous bands have shown their support to Music 4 Cancer, such as The Offspring, Rise Against, Bam Margera (Jackass), Strung Out, NOFX, Millencolin, and also Quebec bands and artists like Grimskunk, Mononc’ Serge, Planet Smashers, etc.
Music 4 Cancer is also present in 8 countries around the world, including the US, Canada, Japan, Sweden, France and Germany.
M4C won awards in various categories like the Year project awarded by the City of Blainville, became front page of numerous magazines across the US, Canada and Europe. The compilation album released in 2010 was named Best Compilation Album of the past 10 years. We went on TV shows, participated in a Web report, appeared on many important festivals such as Amnesia Rockfest (200,000 people) and Heavy MTL (75,000 people), etc.
